JUst about sailing again after motoring for most of the last 24 Hrs with light winds astern. Had a disaster motoring yesterday afternoon when the engine suddenly died and the boat was shaking. I thought the enine had shed a cylinder or something. I put her in neutral with alot of effort and thought maybe there is a rope around the prop. Tried gently forward and reverse, but no luck. Had my mask and snorkel and swimmers on when I decided to give another fwd/rev and miraculously it cleared. Thank goodness we fitted rope cutters to the shaft when new!!!!!
ETA horta Sat Morning with fresh winds building after lunch. I just hope they have room for me as I have a list of repairs now.
