Hello Las Palmas!

At about 8:30 a.m., we arrived at the last destination before we take off on the big trip. The trip over was quite special in that the crew all got together to watch a brilliant movie, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, before settling into our routine night shifts. Upon Las Palmas coming under our sights, the wind was in our favour to the extent that we needed to reef in the headsail to ensure that we wouldn't arrive too early!

Once docked, it became apparent that many (if not most) boats already arrived. We are in a smaller marina with what seems to be the rest of the Catamarans. They are in all shapes and sizes, including a one-off model whose mast looks like the body of a construction crane, so the multihull class seems to be well represented! The other, main marina is close by so the people from all 250 boats should be in the same area. With this in mind, the crew looks forward to meeting as many ARC participants as possible.

Today, we look to get settled in for the week-long partying ahead of us! And the program promises quite a good platform for it – with plenty of happy hours to go round. We already have our keys and passes for the Marina, which will really open doors for what the city and the ARC have prepared for us. What we already know is that the speed painting competition has just started – unfortunately for Manel – and a cocktail for the yacht owners is tonight. Whatever is in store for us, all of the eyes of Las Palmas are on us this week, so we will be sure to keep you updated regularly on this inevitable extravaganza!

Expect more news from boat number 185!
