At last departure for the wilds of the Atlantic...The three of us joined forces last night, Alastair, James and Jonathan in Boston for a final going over Depeche, our Sweden 38 that is to take us across the high seas.  Fully fuelled up with food for 25 days+ and water she looked a little lower at the waterline - and then Alastair loaded on his backback from S America with not sure what in it.  We set sail from Boston at 8 am with a blue sky, a following wind and some beers handed to us by another departing boat - what a treat.  The spinnaker was dusted down and hoisted for a couple of hours but now back on to genoa as the wind backed round to the South.
We are heading South east towards the Stellwagen Bank in the hope of seeing some whales before we leave the civilisation of the USA.  All seems well with the boat though the wind indicator seems to have packed in so we may never know what is thrown at us.
Now to send this and see if it really does what it says on the box.
