Well, we finally made it back to the South part of Gran Canaria. At the moment, Bandido is parked at the fuel dock. Bryan the captain, went to the marina office to check in and try to get a slip for the boat.
The Oyster service men are expected to arrive from England tonight and they will be here tomorrow morning to work on Bandido. The captain mentioned that they will be doing sea trials to make sure things are running properly.
The south part of Gran Canaria looks a bit like a desert, I can see that they have a resort with a golf course.
Tonight we will celebrate thanksgiving day onboard Bandido, Nigel will cook dinner. And, because we will be docked, making dinner won't be as challenging as making dinner while at sea. I have so far, make dinner once, when we were about 100 miles off the island. And, believe me, cooking while the boat is rolling back and forth and heeled over, it's not fun at all. But, after a while, you just get used to it. That's, after all, life at sea, challenging and rewarding.
I did catch part of the sunrise this morning, I could see it from the main state room, it was beautiful. I saw this giant incandecent glowing ball rising out of the horizon, it was magnificent.
This morning while Roger was on watch, the winds picked up a lot, we had about 30kts winds. It eventually calmed down after about an hour. And by the time we got here to the island, it was nice day and a calm ocean.
This part of the island by the way, it's called Bahia De La Melonera.

That's all for now, next blog update, tomorrow.

Cheers!
