At the moment it is 10:47 am, we are experiencing a rudder failure. The crew is installing the back up tiller to manually steer and control Bandido. Before this happened, we were sailing along really nicely. The main and the shoot were up. The wind speed was about 15kts and we were cruising at about 9kts speed.

Now, it looks like we might have to turn back towards Las Palmas and try to get Bandido fixed but we'll still have to assesed what can be done and go from there.
The failure had to do with a hollow bar that connect the autopilot to the rudder. The bar just bent or broke right in the middle.

Our coordinates at the moment are as follows: 26o 01' .7N Latitude and 019o 38' .075 Longitude.
Bryan the captain has contacted the PYD office and alerted them on what's going on at the moment.
I will post another update either later today or tomorrow.
