All is well on board with a good breeze astern and so still flying the spinnaker which has done more work than ever in its life these past few days!

As our track shows, we decided to gybe to head more west late yesterday afternoon, and as soon as we did we had more breeze and were going quite well. We passed just ahead of Arethusa of Yealm and spoke to Mervyn who reported all well but asked that we relay a message to his wife via a text on our sat phone to say that his sat phone was not working! He was running pretty well direct down the rhumb line and I took some photos.

By 23.00 it was clear that the wind had shifted to now mean that we were running almost NW  - not helpful at all – in about 15kts. We decided to gybe so as Bill came on watch at midnight we did a good gybe and hence are now back closer to the rhumb line and pointing roughly at San Miguel.

We will look very carefully at the weather now – we are concerned that there is a big calm patch opening up on the rhumb line about 300nm south of our current position (48 46N 13 35W). To avoid that we are trying to keep west!
