Friday early morning
All is well – a busy night in some ways! We had the spinnaker up for 2 hours from 21.00 to 23.00 but then decided the wind was strengthening and it was better to drop I for the night. As soon as we did the wind eased…… typical – but then strengthened and we had to put in a reef at 02.00! Since then very quiet with no shipping, although the Sea Me has just pinged meaning a ship‘s radar has “painted” the ‘wand’ at the top of the mast. About to download the weather again – we think the wind is gradually veering more SW and in which case we may need to gybe which is a long and complicated job as we are running with a poled out yankee! No boats near us on AIS. We have no idea where they all are – have they all come west or stayed east? We are still to the west of our rhumb line and it feels ok so far! More later! Tim and Robert |
