Beautiful day! 116nm to Ponta de Ferraria

What a stunning day! We are bowling along at 6.7kts with yankee and 1 reef and hardened up to be on the wind! Sea state is ok, but of course the angle of heel is about 25% (we don’t measure it, we just live with it – if lee rail is awash we need to reef!)

We continue to aim to pass that headland and maintain the advantage (if we have any) of having a 17nm run down to PD as opposed to a hard beat from the east end which we hope our oppo will have to do. We estimate our eta at about midday tomorrow all being well.

We have had another pod of dolphins for a while and got some videos and we both showered which felt great!

Water temp now about 19C which helps keep the ambient temperature up, but any reefing or sail change is very hot work!

Just contemplating another reef so only a short one for now. I may try to post something again later but we need that weather update now!

We have been so lucky with the weather and have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Sailing along like this with not a soul in sight, beautiful seas and sunny sky is just such a fabulous experience! As dear old Mervyn likes to say so correctly: “Aren’t we lucky!”
