HAPPY NEW YEAR
ALICE'S ADVENTURES
ANDREW AND CELIA SHARPE
Tue 4 Jan 2011 17:07
We left St Lucia just before Christmas and made our way
up to Antigua. Christmas Day was a mixture of weather - very hot, some
rain and then the wind increased and it poured with rain again at night.
Spent a night in Jolly Harbour and after clearing all the formalities made our
way round to Jumby Bay. Debbie and Mark came out to meet us and brought a
bottle of bubbly to celebrate our arrival. It was Rob's birthday so the
kids went to Cecilias for dinner and we were treated to dinner at the Estate
House. Delicious. Lizzie was finally better from the bug she arrived
with but unfortunately gave it to Celia. Hope nobody else gets it.
On Old Years Day we went over to Falmouth Harbour for the Nelson Pursuit
Race. We had all been invited to race on Fenix, a Swan 60 which was also
on the ARC. We had a great race, didnt win but no boats overtook us, it
was a very close race. Then we had a quick walk round English Harbour
where we saw another ARC boat we had met before - Amelit. New Year's Eve
dinner was with Debbie and Mark and friends of theirs then we danced and watch
fireworks at the hotel. A great evening.
