A pretty good day’s run, with stronger winds than forecast. We reefed down
at nightfall, and then again at watch change. There is a bit if weather to the
north and east of Bermuda, which is effecting a squeeze and accelerating wind
strength. However, with a boat that our travel hoist operator in Jolly Harbour
tells us weighs close to 20 tonnes, maybe a bit of a blow is what we need!
All else is running well, with the exception of the generator, whose
pampering and servicing last week was obviously not appreciated. Thankfully, the
Duogen is running the boat, and keeping the batteries charged, without need to
stick on the engine. Dirty hands will be called for later today to coax the
generator into life.....
