We had a wonderful send-off from Gibraltar
yesterday (27th October): old cruising pals, and new, waved us off from
the quayside ……
After a 25 hour sail, we eventually arrived in Rabat, Morocco,
this afternoon. We had some exhilarating sailing enroute, some moments of
calm, a few friendly dolphins, a monster fish which jumped off the hook (no
dinner tonight), and a rollercoaster surfing entry into Rabat, where we were
piloted in by very friendly locals through the notorious shallows. After
4 hours of formalities: immigration, police and sniffer dogs onboard
(confused by hidden huge leg of jamon), we are now finally berthed up next to and
overlooking the King’s pontoon ….. and just opened Ali’s
birthday champagne!
