Our sail back from Anguilla to St Martin yesterday started well, running
comfortably before the wind towards the south west corner of Anguilla at 5-6
knots under just the genoa. However, the crossing to Marigot was upwind in
blustery conditions with the wind speed climbing above 30 knots in the squalls.
We arrived safely, however, with both boat and crew intact.
Stephen Murray joined us in Marigot Bay last night just in time for a
“sundowner”. We spent this morning clearing in at Port Royale and
re-provisioning for our visits to St Barts and Saba. After showing Stephen
the superyachts arrayed in Simpson Bay Lagoon, we retired to the famous
“Lagoonies” for dinner, before a dark but uneventful dinghy ride back to the
boat.
