We spent 3 weeks in Newport. We had foils and sails to hoist, radar and AIS to fit. New batteries to fit, and a brand new Genneker. Not to mention victualling Meshugga for cruising in the Caribbean where everything is 3 times more expensive and zero choice.
Amazon did a roaring trade and huge thanks to Newport Yacht Club for receiving a gazillion packages for us. Many thanks Rudy, Lynn and Stephan.
Newport Yacht Club
Club getting ready for Christmas.
Local boats at the club with their winter ‘tents’ getting ready for the snow.
Most of the boats on moorings have already been taken out of the water, and daily more boats disappear....
Even in the cold weather, kids are out sail training.
Iconic Newport Bridge
The best place on land to watch sailing in Newport is at the Castle Hill Inn, with famous Adirondack Chairs.
We’re sailing again.......... leaving Newport for Martha’s Vineyard
Tiny little bird catching a ride to Martha’s Vineyard.
Martha’s Vineyard. We anchored at night outside of the breakwater, the Ferries zoomed past us late at night and from the early hours in the morning.
A storm is on the way, so we’re making way to Nantucket which has a good anchorage area and will spend a few days there.
