After 2 superb days at Dunk Island we are off to Fitzroy, 60Nm north. Maddie and Simonne hired a jet-ski and had a terrific time. Maddie managed to throw Simonne off the back! Will, Maddie and Simonne also did some wake boarding with all three of them managing to get up. Simonne was the superstar and looked terrific in her itsy bitsy bikini! Guy is now under pressure to buy a wake board and a more powerful engine for the dingy – and why not?

Last night we anchored off the beach at Mission Beach where we were 12 months ago for a wedding. Had a lovely night eating pizzas on the beach with friends before returning to Dunk.

Today is another superb QLD day – 30degrees, blue skies and the lightest of winds  - so again we have the engine on to help us on our way. We’ve used more diesel than I thought we would so far on this trip and I am looking forward to a quiet sail for a few days.

We have quite a bit if work to do when we get to Yorkeys Knob in a couple of days: change oil and filters, fit new exhaust elbow, new running rigging, new batten, new inverter charger coming from the US. Fortunately we now have 240v shore power rather than relying on the generator all of the time. Much quieter, cheaper and cleaner.

William will be leaving us at Yorkeys – returning to Melbourne. We are looking forward to having Maddie on her own for a month – there will certainly be less bickering! Oh the joys of parenting.
