We departed Keppel Bay Marina, Singapore and had a fabulous 72hr passage to Thailand.  We skipped Malaysia altogether in order to get to Phuket on time to pick up Maddie and Will who are spending three weeks on board.  After checking in at Ao Chalong – SW Phuket Island – we headed around the bottom to the East Coast and berthed at Royal Phuket Marina.  What a treat.  The marina is new with lots of super yachts.  When we pulled in we felt a bit scruffy which is often the way after a passage, but we soon tarted up the boat with a good clean and polish and went about arranging for the teak deck to be replaced and the new cockpit table to be made.  In all we spent 10 days in the marina while the work was being completed.  This allowed us to eat at the magnificent French restaurant ‘Les Anges’.  It was so good we ate there three nights and had breakfast from there four day!.  The authentic French pastries were to die for.  Made by the Belgian chef who imports many ingredients directly from France and makes everything on site.  There is a chocolaterie as part of the restaurant with gorgeous hand crafted truffles.  Mouth watering stuff.  Couldn’t have been better!  This stop was pleasant and necessary.  We needed to restock, clean up and get ready for the Island hopping which is supposed to be some of the best scenery in the world.
