We left Playa Blanca yesterday afternoon at just gone 2
pm, and motored into the straight that separates Lanzarote and Fuertaventura.
After we had hoisted the newly repaired main, the wind disappeared for six hours
and so we had to use some precious fuel for a while. Eventually, the wind
filled out and so we were then able to sail under main and genoa. We are now
under main only running almost dead downwind in 15 knots of wind.
As usual, it takes a day or so to settle back into the
boat routine but both Ian and myself are better prepared than when we left
Pwllheli, and the weather is sunny and warm, which always helps
