Visit to Etna

9th July 2009 Back from Agrigento we didn’t drive the same route by thee coast and took the inland route to see the land and some small towns. We decided during this trip to visit next day the Volcano of Mt. Etna with the longest period of eruptions in the world and an elevation 3350meters. 10th July 2009 It was a long drive and a hot day but when we arrived on the 2,000meters it was very cold, how stupid of us to be dressed like the way we were! We never thought that would be so cold there. If you want to know more about the volcano click: http://www.volcanolive.com/etna.html and http://www.volcanoetna.com/ We came back to Syracuse and had a nice dinner and talked about the sailing plans for the next morning south down the coast of East Sicily and then turn west towards Hamammet Tunisia. |
