Yesterday night was a difficult night. Our B&G
auto pilot broke down completely and after 3 hours trying to repair it without
success we decided to stop and steer manually all night. In the morning we tuned
the Wind Vane ''Hydrovane'' which in a dead run works perfect. So for those who
have asked us if the Hydrovane works, YES it does and for those who have told us
that the Vane does nt function with the wind after they are full of shit! Excuse
my english.
The Hydrovane has one secret if you do not
trim the boat, neutralize the steering and you dont set your sails right it will
never perform.
The wind is 15kt max and the sea a bit calmer but
the day started getting very hot since 10:30am.
We can see a big yacht on our starboard tack
flying a spinnaker but seems there is not much wind there too. He must be the
same boat we have seen early this morning at 02:30. We will find our at 18:00hrs when we receive the ARC positioning
and we will all cry together for the disastrous
night.
