Cascais is a very picturesque town on a bay at the mouth of the river Tagus, 14 miles from Lisbon.  Estoril is at the other side of the bay and the scenery is particularly attractive because there are lots of trees and no high rise buildings.  It's a good thing we like it here as we might be stalled for the next 2 weeks.  We need a new starter motor for the engine which has to be ordered from England the the crew (me) has to return to England for a week while Ian has planned an overland research trip to Cadiz and Seville.  Our base was going to be Marbella but the circs have made us make our pit stop here.

Our stats for the trip so far is that we travelled 1153 miles in 10 days, 300 miles using the engine and the rest under sail.  (Info supplied by Tim's log - Tim as flown back to England.)

Most boats stay in the Marina for 1 or 2 nights.  After 4 nights Ian and I already feel like a couple of ancient mariners, watching everybody come and go.  Our favourites, a Brazilian couple on a beautiful boat called Baila Comigo (Dance With Me) left for Brazil this morning.
