Rum, popn. 20. Used to be owned by the Bullough family who built their own castle and buried themselves in their own mausoleum. Now owned by Scottish Natural Heritage and populated mostly by Manx shearwaters, Rum ponies and wild goats.

Eigg; community owned and fully off-grid self sufficient with the energy from solar, wind and hydro shared out equally amongst residents. The harbour is towered over by the magnificent "An Sgurr" which if you stagger to the top gives you unbeatable views of the Cuillin hills of its neighbour Rum.
