Well thought I had the currents worked out, but.......!   Seems as we cross between Borneo and Singpore things are confused.  At midday we were maintaining a comfortable 8kts, but when the tide turned to ebb we sort of hit a wall, and the speed dropped pretty quickly to 6kts.  We increased RPM, but then had to launch the stabilisers, so have made slower progress than we had planned.  Good news is the delay means we will transit the Singapore Harbour in daylight.

Fuel consumption is as expected, averaging 1.5ltrs/nautical mile. We should arrive at Puteri Harbour with approx 500ltrs, or 300nm of fuel remaining.

This is the longest leg of the journey - some 40 hours long, and will take us to our furthest point from land, about 120nm.  Our next turn is in 26 hours, so we are excited and looking forward to that,  should be around the 0300 watch change Tue/Wed night. We are sticking to our normal routine of 3 hours on, 3 hours off, which is not too tiring -mind you Red Bull helps - "gives you wings" - apparently!

Jad been a quiet piece of ocean, hadn't seen another boat for the last 9 hours or so, now we have 3 on the AIS - one port, one starboard and one dead ahead!   As we approach the shipping lanes at the entrance to SIngapore harbour it will get busier  As an aside we are now out out of  range of any man-made lights - apart from our own navigation lights, and as thee is no cloud, the stars are truly spectacular. The Milky Way is particularly clear.
