Bad hair day yesterday! Found shaft seal leaking
badly. Tried injecting heavy silicone grease into the seal but not much effect.
Had to reduce speed as still motoring to find wind. I was worried about complete
destruction of seal so spent all night checking but seemed no worse. Wind turned
up this morning so now sailing and engine not leaking when stopped.
Jim got the fuel cans sorted yesterday which was a
bonus.
Hope this wind stays for more than the 72 hours I
can see ahead on grib.
