29^th April  DENIA

Charlotte and Nigel left for Alicante yesterday, to be sure of catching their flight today….Susannah arrived yesterday evening. I spent the day washing, cleaning, polishing, I wandered through town til I finally tracked down a laundrette, so it was a kind of catch up/housekeeping day. I was so engrossed in boat washing I completely failed to see Chris and Bev on Elysium berthing directly opposite me, during a howling gale.

This came out of nowhere – wind screaming through the rigging, then the heavens opened, dreadful. All cafes promptly packing up etc etc….

Did it again today for a while, but not as bad.

S and I went for a long coast walk, had a drink at a seaside terraced shack, jasmine hedges, curtains of flowers cascading over rocks, rock pools – the air must be very good for you!

S met up with Chris and Bev and had a good natter/gossip over a few drinks yesterday, and we saw them again today. They (and we) are off to Ibiza tomorrow.

Really great to have a day off today!
