Psyche Blog

Psyche's new sporadic blog begins with her in the marina in Lagos. The temperature is scorching and we're still awaiting our bimini. Rally Portugal has ended, the flags are down, the banners furled and the fleet dispersing. Some are staying a few days, some a few weeks and Avalon is staying a year.

The Rally was brilliant - I'd recommend it to anybody. Psyche was superb, she stood up to some really foul weather, and whilst she is slow to shift in light airs, as the wind picks up she moves beautifully.

The plan is to use Lagos a a base for a month or two, day sailing locally, before moving East, subject to constraints of crew and time. So as far as the blog goes I suspect it will be intermittent and sporadic until the next leg of the trip begins. A pause for breath after the slog round from Hamble-Plymouth-Falmouth-Baiona-Povoa-Figueira-Nazare-Peniche-Oeiras-Sines-Lagos is probably the right thing to do - unless I completely lose momentum (as some obviously do) and haunt the pontoons here in years to come, greeting the Rally Portugal boats as they come in: "Rally Portugal! I did that 8 years ago....!"
