Still at 37.06N 8.40W Lagos Marina
Psyche is booked in until end Aug, then we may move
East into the Med - timings dictated by crew availability etc
Susannah and I came out on Sunday night (17th July)
- in time to see Jonathan and 2 new crew head off for Spain on Monday morning in
"Maui" - sad to see them go, he was a good bloke and we had some good times on
his boat; but who knows, we may see him storming over the horizon flying his
biggest spinnaker - "The Beast" - somewhere or other. Let's hope
so.
Met up with Jonathan and Jackie with a friend,
Jane, from "Avalon". They're based here for a while and ar5e using it as a
base for daysailing and little expeditions with mates - had a great meal with
them on Monday night.
Tuesday my friend Magdalena's stepfather Donald,
who's a resident, stopped by and showed us round Lafgos - he was excellent
company, and we had a very good lunch at one of his mates'
restaurants.
The weather's been a bit odd - very strong wqinds
all day last 3 weeks, the locals a bit irritated, difficult to eat
outside etc - but now it's back in the groove, clear blue sky, 75-80
degrees and a good breeze in the evening.
Checked out the beach yesterday - it was superb.
The town is attractive, busy but noy ruined by tourists, the whole place is
great. So we have a couple of gin and tonics in the evening and slope off to
eat, whilst planning our next move.
Going back to UK tonight, great little break - got
the bimini, but no fittin instructions, and have had an amusing time asking
other HR owners about how theirs are fitted - so far not found one who says
theirs is fitted correctly! Have been all over the internet searching for
photos, and finally got a rather convoluted set of instructions from HR -
probably have just about enough info now to make a go of it - next time I'm
here....! Which will be soon hopefully....
