Parati

Day 5: All still well aboard Parati, except dogs still
recovering from a bit of a dousing this morning when a wave came over the
cockpit side - Stanley was in the middle of breakfast and dived for cover into
his, now, waterproof (no expense spared for the pooches!) cockpit bed! Wind and
waves picked up quite a bit last night as we are now running into the edge of
tropical storm Alex; but lovely and sunny this morning and wind direction very
favorable for getting us to the Azores. Our weather router, Faith
from commandersweather.com, is doing a great job keeping us in good winds
but avoiding the worst conditions - heading south from Bermuda is not the normal
routing - usually head north then pick up westerlies - but seems to be working
for us so far. Should be a couple more days of this before Alex passes
completely and we run into the infamous "Azores high" pressure with no wind and
have to start motoring!
