All's well aboard the good ship Parati. Still sailing
due east on a broad reach. The keener ones of you may have noticed the lack of
posts on Sailblogs - these are sent via SSB (single side band) radio (this
posting is sent via satellite phone) and depend on atmospherics, time of day and
luck; MF/HF radio signals sent from/ to our backstay bounce of the
ionosphere down to a radio station - nearest one to us currently is in Nova
Scotia. Since we left Bermuda I have not been able to send/ get messages - but
yesterday got a fantastic signal and could receive messages at 6.5 bytes/ minute
- very fast for an SSB radio, so Sailblogs is now more up to date! Sargasso weed
now beginning to clog up our windpilot.... similar to the
other-way.
