Day 6, going very fast with much current.  1000nm out of 3000nm done.

Hi
This is just to wish you all a very happy Easter and we hope that it is spent with rather less motion than ours looks as if it is going to be even though we are well reefed.
The Pacific has not been 'pacific'.  We have now had four days of lumpy seas, winds of 15 to 25 knots and most irritatingly almost constant rain.  This does not come as a steady downpour but as drizzle interspersed with downpours and squalls.  The wind and seas are on the beam so the motion is not restful.
Our one remaining cattle egret  is still with us, bedraggled but alive.  He had a squid this morning, all we could find on deck.  He has had a flying fish each day so far.  This is all he will eat.  In some ways we want to get him through the next two weeks and deliver him/her to the Marquesas.  What we really want is for him to behave like Scott and just go.
Spirits are high if damp but anyone who ever tells us that this is one of the easiest passages in the world will get both barrels from all three of us.
Love to you all
David,  Annette and Christabel
