Dear blog

A slightly disappointing run today (147 miles) since we have had lighter winds. We decided last night during a windshift that we were a bit far north so are now sailing south. In fact we passed the Tropic of  Cancer at 0753 thi morning. we are really noticing it with both air and sea temperatures much warmer - AJB has not put on trousers at all - a pity that the wind does not drop briefly since the water temp is now 24C and I fancy a swim.

We were expecting to see fewer boats by now - the first night we saw about 50, the second night 10 and last night 8 - which is fun and makes one feel comfortable! Except other boats seem to be having power problems and JEO saw 2 this morning without lights. We meanwhile have no problems with power or water with the Duogen and Spectra woking great!! Touching the proverbial....Actually without the Duogen we would have to run the engine for 6 hrs pd not 4 hrs that I said yesterday, a major disincentive when one comes out here for peace and quiet!

No major problems but we managed to break the gennaker sheet last evening - fraying on the preventer guy. Still another 26m to go and we also have a spare! Used the small gennaker not the big one! Better running sail than the Code0!

Boas enjoying a postprandial cigar after supper last night!
