Dear Blog

We haven't seen another boat of any kind since 4 days ago but about 1/2 hr ago we spied a sailing yacht 3 miles ahead of us. I wish I could say that I spied it from the top of the mast where I have just been for a 3rd time but I had other things to concentrate on!. The bloody jib halyard snap shackle at the upper end came undone for a 2nd time despite being taped up - at least it only happened an hour ago in broad daylight so I didn't have the night to think about it! This time we have fastened it with 2 cable ties - I really don't want another trip up there!

Weather is glorious with a ENE force 5 blowing out of a clear sky - temperature must be 30C since the water is 27C

Position is 14.21N 48.27W with 735 miles to go the finish. We are creaming along on a broad reach at 7.5 knots with full main and jib and at this rate we should be in by Wednesday 9th December. Can't quite point St Lucia on this gybe (pointing about 290deg when we need to point 270deg) but the wind is forecast to go to the NE and we might make  it without another gybe!

Spirits good!! Seas building as the attached photo shows
