Hi all

A few days in and a couple of things to update you on...

The IT and Communications Manager (moi) has taken on a further role; 'poor sod in charge of sea sickness'.  I have lost the battle a couple of times, but I am winning the war - this blog is testament to that fact!

On the start line there were 300 odd yachts and countless motor boats 'sodding things up' Skippy, 23,11, 2008. It was quite a sight and there were a good few thousand well wishers on the shores.  We crossed the start line at 13.02. By sunset there were just a handful of yachts dotted on the horizon. We had goose-winged the sails and were heading south hoping to pick up stronger trade winds down to Cape Verde.

Will began fishing on the morning of the second day and had managed to catch our first fish in good time for dinner.  We think it was King Fish, which was fried with ginger, garlic and some gherkins.  It was fantastic.

During the early morning watch of the 3rd day Paul and Will saw a couple of dolphins.  They played in the bow waves for a short time before leavings us.  We also spotted a pilot whale just off the stern.

We are now about to have breakfast, and I have started to feel ill again - I hope you all feel guilty!

Before we say goodbye, we must thank Bridget for getting Namaste so well prepared and also thanks to Angie & Neil for their help in the Canaries.

Hopefully as my sea legs get stronger, I'll have more to say and be able to write it down!

Love to you all
