Hi all,

Well you'll all be pleased to know that we survived the thunder and lightening show last night. It
lasted for hours and was pretty spectacular to watch, thankfully it stayed over the PNG coast so we
just skimmed by unscathed. Also, great relief that we didn't hear anything go bump in the night.
We were both a little unsettled to see such huge trees floating in the water at sunset, it's an
awful thought wondering what would happen if we t-boned one at 10 kts! Anyway, thankfully the
flotsam gods were on our side and we remain ding free.

We're still battling a bit of contrary current, and now we have about 10 knots of wind on the nose to slow us down even further!
Mike has been busy all morning doing some work to our broken windlass (anchor winch to the
non-yachties). I haven't seen him for hours as he's hidden in the anchor locker, but I can hear him
banging away. Apparently, no luck yet, but I don't think he's pulled out the biggest hammer yet!
Watch this space.

Well, I'm afraid there's no other exciting news from onboard (unless you count some laundry this
afternoon). We're getting very excited about reaching TI and merely have a few hundred miles of
reef to navigate before we're catching up with our crew Andrew & Linda over a nice cold beer.

Love to you all,

Sarah & Mike
