It's a lovely calm, sunny morning at sea, but unfortunately still not much in the way of wind.
Reminds me of that Chris Rea song "Nothing's happening by the sea." What little there is is from
right behind us, wafting the yucky smell of My Way's stubbornly smokey engines right over us. Not so
nice. The wind is forecast to pick up later today so hopefully we'll be able to get the sails up and
shut the engine down. We're doing about 8 knots at 273 deg true.

There was a lot happening by the sea for some yesterday though. We got news from friends on another
boat further West that a boat called Hot Ice about 80 miles away from them hit a remote reef and had
to be abandoned. The people on board had just been on the radio five minutes before saying how well
everything was going. Not sure why the hit the reef as it's well marked on charts. Our friends
relayed radio messages from Hot Ice to the Aussie coastguard who picked them up and dropped them on
another yacht continuing west to Australia. Very sad for them.

Well on that happy note we'll say cheerio for now. Lots of love, Mike & Sarah
