Hello Everyone,
Soon after midnight we finally dropped the hook in the shallow water off a river estuary after a pretty unpleasant two and a half day bash from Bali. We all got a good night's rest and moved the boat this morning. We're now anchored about 15 miles up the river off the town of Kumai, having just washed most of the salt off My Way. It's 11 o'clock, hot and still, and brown brakish water is drifting sluggishly passed the boat. The town has a real frontier feel, with dishevelled buildings crowding the waterfront and all sorts of traffic coming and going on the river. We're heading in to town now to try and arrange transport up river into the jungle, and to the orangutans.
