Day 7 – Verdens Ende (Worlds End) to Tonsberg

Position: 59:15.98N 10:24.29E

A beautiful sunny and still start to the morning – all hands on deck for ship scrubbing and polishing.

We set off under engine and had breakfast on the way in the cockpit in glorious sunshine while sight seeing up the Tonsberg fjord.

Neil had saved us a place on the town dock right outside the restaurant for lunch. Neil & Randi met us in shorts and came aboard for drinks. People started to arrive including Jenny and Toby who had just flown in.

18 of us sat down for lunch in the restaurant for a noisy meal.

We said a fond farewell to Jim & Lesley after lunch as they left for the airport laden with Norwegian flags for their children.

A short and speedy trip with Neil at the helm of the Dory took us up to Helgar & Anna’s beautiful waterside home for glorious sunny afternoon in the garden with a few drinks whilst waiting for the bridge to open in Tonsberg at 6.00pm.

We brought Jammie Dodger down to moor outside the house with Jan’s cousin’s sons Jonas & Niels and then had an amazing feast of prawns and crab, strawberries, carrot cake and Martins Bakery Florentines (Helgar’s favourite) all on a huge table in the garden with Neil’s family & friends some who arrived speedily by boat.

After dinner we were taken in Einer’s boat on a high speed trip around the island of Husoy to see the sight and houses with a spectacular sunset.

The evening was rounded off with a few more beers round the garden fire.
