Thursday/Friday 1/2 July (49 Miles)

Wind howling in Howth, so went into Dublin for a days sightseeing. Checking
XC Weather in the evening found that we had a weather window that night with
southerly winds down to 15 to 20 knots. Tide turned to go with the wind from
around 10pm, so we set off at 10.30pm after a nice steak supper onboard. We
had a cracking night passage, regularly hitting 10+ knots with one reef in
the main and reefing the jib whenever the wind increased and swapping helms
every 30 minutes.

Arrived in Holyhead at 05.30, bed, showers and full english breakfast in
local hotel at 11.30. Spent the rest of the day cleaning and sorting the
boat ready for conversion to racing mode. Neil arrived in the evening and
loaded a ton of gear into the van and filled the boat with racing sails.
Neil then joined us for a beer and a curry in the sailing club.

Saturday 3 July. After nine amazing weeks and 2,400 miles this is the end
of my part of the Viking Adventure. I have lost the half stone that I have
been trying to lose for months and am feeling pretty fit. Thank you to
everyone for great company onboard and good luck to the racing crew in Cork.
And finally a big thank you to Neil on behalf of everyone.
