Wednesday 26 May.  Another lovely blue sky day.  Ashore to explore Grimstad, probably the nicest of the “white” towns on this coast.  Lovely old wooden church overlooking the harbour.

Set off for a cracking sail, close tacking out through the islands and reefs.  Pinching slightly, Jammy Dodger will sail amazingly upwind. We were heading for Lillesand, but found a nice sheltered bay on Skaueroya, near Lillesand, with an anchored concrete pontoon for mooring to.  Barbequed some Norwegian “Sommer Kotteleter”, very slightly cured pork chops.

Thursday 27 May.  Blue sky yet again, but very chilly first thing.  Inflated the rubber duck and had several hours ashore, following a nature trail around the island.  Late lunch on board and them motored 2 miles up to Lillesand for the night. Quick explore, then back on board for supper.
