GULLIVER OF SOUTHAMPTON 4th December

Gulliver
Thu 4 Dec 2008 22:13
With the forecast of squalls last night all watches held their breath to see
what the nights sailing had install for us. Gulliver has been thriving in
winds 16-20 knots and in Marks words is 'Trucking'. It was on Anna's and
Zoe's (20:00 - 00:00) that Anna spotted a dark cloud looming from the west,
this was brought 25 knots of wind and a scattering of showers. The only all
female watch showed their mettle and spent the next hour wave surfing, much to
their jubiliation this morning.

11 days in and food remains of a high standard - today's lunch coleslaw,
Greek salad, cold meats and pitta's is a testiment to the crews
co-ordinating the fruit and veg consumption. This inolves the following
games - 'Is it off? is okay?', then 'Will it harm us or won't it', then 'Can
we hide it in another meal?' These key set of questions have meant we've had
minimal over board disposal of our fresh produce. On the waste disposal
front, we would like to nominate Lis for the 'Clean at Sea' award, after she
undertook the selfless task of sifting through all our rubbish bags to wash
and compress all items. The waste now smells of daisy's (well nearly),
whilst now being third of the size.

Watermaker currently out of sevice with a new problem so strict water rationing in force -
hopefully Ed and Mark can fix it but if not we have enough reserves onboard for a safe arrival
All the best from Mark, Ed,Lis,Andy, Anna and Zoe.
