Well we arrived yesterday in Cran Caneria and the crew opened a well deserved bottle of champagne on arrival. After that, and a shower we all felt human again.

We walked in to the town of and enjoyed an Italian meal. It was interesting what everyone missed most at sea. For me it was meat and vegetables so I had pasta with tuna and capers, then stuffed aubergines. Dave had a Pizza followed by ice cream. Emily lasagne followed by a large piece of chocolate cake and James fried seafood followed by cake.

Our efforts to do some minor repairs on the boat were hampered by today being a public holiday in Spain. So we left James in charge of adding a third cleat to the mainsail. However, the boat was cleaned and hosed down and tidied. I also bought James some new fishing tackle as a farewell present, the chap in the fishing shop assured me it will catch tuna. I told James I want to see the pictures.

There are now several boats proudly flying the ARC flag in the marina. Boats of all nationalities, it promises to be a fantastic event.

For me I’m glad I did the trip I have, but I’m not sure I’m ready for the ARC.

Regards
