The good crew of Elixir is please to report that we are now assembled and ready for action. The crew have been working hard to decide quantities / varieties of water, fuel, food and over expensive sailing equipment and have settled on a generous supply of toilet rolls and more fresh water than you could shake a stick at, all in preparation for a trip which can take anywhere from 15 to 25 days to complete the nearly 3000 nautical miles.

Skipper Richard Merrick has led us a merry dance around numerous car parking bays, citing every available option as to where we could park and then settle for a space with minimal space from which his reliable crew evacuate and soon as the wheels stop turning... albeit shortly, as we then discover that you can't buy grub in a clothing outlet!

Meanwhile, life on board is ticking along quite happily! Sending recovering crew members up the mast with important tasks to do early in the morning seemed be a great source of entertainment, whilst others were rigging or repair parts that really shouldn't be in two parts. Confidence is high and we're itching to get the show on the road! Roll on Sunday,

Elixir out.
