Elixir - Ovni
Richard Merrick

Ahhh, our first beer in the cockpit, with the sun beating down, wind blowing at a steady 20 knots and plenty of chat and banter. We played around with the spinnaker for about an hour, trying to get it to fly, but the rope had become entanged with the sail inside the sock. Eventually, we had lift off... and gained point something of a knot!! Well worth exercise!

Irish's traditional Tuesday curry night was ammended to a Friday night feast and we filled our bellies with a delicious chicken biriani.

One of the opposition decided to play Pirates of the Carribean at 0300(ish) this morning. She over took us to starboard, decided that the feng- shui wasn't right there and flew staright across our bows at nearly right angles to us... you could imagine the canon ports opening with Davey Jones calling merry mayhem from the helm. (Of course we're the goodies and must be on the Black Pearl- albeit with white sails!) Then she sailed of into the distance we're afraid to report. Andrew was adamant that he was going to going to cover Elixir's name so they couldn't identify us!

We've made good progress, with another steady 156 miles under the hull. The rum punch is getting closer!

Elixir continues to look after us well.
