Charles writing again on sunrise shift, 7:45a.m. Winds shifted easterly yesterday the 12th and waned overnight to 8-12 knots dead on nose from east.

So we were pushed well south off course on port tack yesterday, overnight shifted to starboard tack and now angled a bit too far to the north, even when pinching close to wind 25-30deg.

COG 55-65deg true, ideally need 80-90..  Wind predictions show we don’t want to go too far north (ie not much past Lat 33 deg line) or start to get more of the south end of the tropical cyclone (which ideally is dissipating soon as predicted by all the weather services), so will likely tack back south again later today in case.

Have covered about 310 miles since departed from Sydney harbour on Sat 9th..,, approx. 780 more to go to round New Zealand N. Island.

Best and will update again within next 24h.  -Charles
