Big seas, lots of wind, lots of banging and
crashing through the waves. 380 Nm to NZ but going to have to tack this
afternoon to avoid even worse weather. Last night we had to slow the boat
down as we were literally jumping off the backs of 5-6m waves at 10-11kts.
Currently we are making around 9kts towards Auckland in 20 kts of breeze (on the
nose of course!) and 4-5m waves. More wind forecast for closer to NZ with
much bigger seas so hopefully tacking off this afternoon will bring us round the
back of the system.
