After our check out in Datca which I have to say was a very smooth process (80 lira) we headed up to Samos as we wanted to catch up with Gypsielady, Cloud9 and Jaxon before they set sail to come back south.

We had good easy sail to get us back into it !!!! With a few hours on the engine due to light winds we landed in Samos two days later. Datca - Samos 80 miles
It was nice to see everyone and listen to were they had been and their plans for the next few weeks as we are all wintering together in finike.
One by one over the last few days they have all left Samos not before a couple of social nights!!!!

Samos is a very pretty town, a pleasant change from the majority of Greek towns we have visited. Here we hired a car and took a trip round the island, it has a number of small coves ideal for swimming which we hope to call in on whilst sailing round the island before heading further North. We also managed a huge shop from Doug's favourite store Lidl and to his surprise the beer was on special offer at only 40pence a half litre. Well..... You can imagine how excited he was!!!!!!. Me...... I was more excited about the Greek yogurt and great salami.....

Today we are leaving the Port of Pythagorean and will have an overnight stay in one of the beautiful coves we found whilst tiring the island beneath a sacred monastery we visited.

Signing off for now ...........
