Finally the weather changed and we were able to leave Maramaris. Heading for a small bay locally nicknamed Ali Babas due to a restaurant of the same name situated at the base of the fort which still stand proud at the entrance.

Here we had only set our anchor for an hour and in sailed our friends Fromm Australia Sara and Val on Gael Force I. First time we had seen them on the water and so this was to be a long chatty afternoon with a few nibbles and drinks to accompany us on the way. Finally leaving to try and cook dinner at 8.pm.

We had an extra ship mate with us on our maiden voyage. An English Chemistry teacher who is living in Maramaris for a year and had offered her teaching skills in the return for a sail with us for a few days. What a result for William private schooling whilst looking out of the window onto the Med.

The next few days we visited a couple of bays and the small town of Bozburan before we reached Sögüt Limani 36:39.5N 28:04.6E. Where we were welcomed by Salik and his family at The Captains Table.
This was to be a very constructive stop as we now have a secure place to leave our boat when we have to return to the UK at the end of June.
