Encountered our first Caribbean squall last night which came out of the blue and produced very strong winds and horizontal rain, it left as fast as it came and Blue Jade took it in her stride after some hasty reefing by the watchman. The crew all got a good freshwater shower.

Only 250 miles to our port in Martinique, so looking quite likely to arrive some time during daylight on Wednesday. Just passed 57 degrees of Longitude. We are putting time into planning our approach and arrival to Martinique which is quite simple navigation.

We are still on a fish famine and were quite jealous to hear another boat reporting catching a 2.5 metre long sword fish this morning, apparently it took 3 people to wrestle it onto the boat. We will be going for a Tuna today as we still have a litre core of soya sauce to open.

Most of the crew planning to go shopping for T shirts on arrival as existing wardrobes are beyond repair by any launderette.

All well and very excited at our imminent arrival.
