Sat. 6am start out of the Elbe and down to the German Frisian island of Nordeney, about 70 miles.

Sun. Out exploring Nordeney on the bikes, quite tacky beach resort at western end, but most of the island is a sand dune national park with cycle tracks leading to remote beaches.  Well worth a visit, but not sure I will bother again.  Set off in the afternoon for a night passage to Vlieland in the Dutch Frisians.  Light winds, sun and cloud, lots of shipping, great fun.

Mon. Arrived in Vlieland at 7am to find the harbour full, red lights, red flags and “Haven Voll” signs, so anchored instead and went to sleep.  By lunchtime the harbour was still full and the wind was getting up, so headed across the Waddenzee to Harlingen a lovely historic Dutch East India Company port.  Through two lifting bridges into Noorderhaven, right in the heart of the old town.
