A perfect day for sunbathing

Well it is 0650am (Bermuda time) and our position is 33:02.13N 62:31.95W. We are motoring along with t the engine at 1500 revs, managing to make about 6 knots at the moment. There is a steady 6-7 knot breeze so perhaps we might get the jenny up in a bit.

Yesterday was an absolutely gorgeous day: perfect for sunbathing, not so much for sailing! The wind flickered in all directions at about 3-4 knots, dying down to 1-2 overnight. We sunbathed, read our books and had chilli for dinner. Jilli did not feel seasick at all and even managed to cook a big curry to use up the chicken and keep in tupperware! Light winds make us all peckish so a lot of food got eaten yesterday - as well as meals I had half a bag of haribo, a slice of cheesecake, and two bars of dairy milk caramel!

As we were sailing out of St. George's (not a breath of wind, the Harbour like a millpond and flags hanging limply - so actually I mean 'as we were motoring out of St. George's) we caught up with Stella who had just arrived after a long trip up. Lovely to see them again and have a chat even if it was only for a few minutes. Enjoy Bermuda guys!!! Then as we motored past the marina with all the Arc Europe boats, lovely Lyall called out to us over the tannoy to say goodbye and wish us luck on the crossing. It was a very nice way to leave Bermuda, where we have enjoyed ourselves immensely, and left us all feeling a little bit sad at the thought of no longer being the 'Triple Ds' a month from now.

When I begun my shift last night at 9pm, the last vestiges of the sunset could still be seen in an orange sky over to the west, and the almost-full moon was so bright ahead of us that it just wasn't dark. A lovely night with absolutely no wind so the water was glassy calm.

All in all, its been a good first day at sea!
