South Island was launched on Monday 8th April. It was very nerve wracking
to see and hear her being picked up by the boat hoist. She was then carried to
the slipway and down into the water where she was dunked very slowly and put
onto a pontoon – very exciting to watch! We were allowed a quick look down below
before she had to be moved. It was quite windy so interesting to watch the
manoeuvring before she was motored off to her temporary berth in Mylor. She
looked very stately and elegant moving along the Penryn River under the command
of Nick and Adrian from Rustler. We are eagerly looking forward to next week
when we can sail her ourselves! |
