After a delayed start of 25hrs, we have just left
our berth and are making our way down Southampton water towards the first "check
gate". At this gate, we have to be flying our storm jib and trisail, just
to show the officials we have them on board (funny that - don't think I would be
doing this race without them somehow!). Anyway, our start is at 12.20 and
its looking like a beat all the way to the needles, from where we will be then
reaching over to Portland bill.
I hope to be able to update this blog, at least
daily and getting input from other members of the crew - so keep
reading!
